Civil & Military Aerospace
Avionics, Communications & IFE
AVoptics was established as a direct result of fibre introduction to Agusta Westland (now Leonardo/Finmeccanica). After years of engagement within British Standards, European Standards and both military and civil standards in the USA all for fibre optics in aerospace, AVoptics has become a leader in its field for specifying, designing and manufacturing harnesses for all military and civil aerospace requirements.
Fibre optics are now found on all major military aircraft and many of the new civil aircraft from Airbus, Boeing, Dassault, MRJ and more, all providing various functions from data networks, avionics systems, fibre to the seat (FTTS) for IFE and HDTV, Wi-Fi links, radar systems, fuel quantity indication systems (FQIS) and many more.
With our quality accreditations to ISO 9001 and AS 9100, ability to terminate all harsh environment connectivity and termini from suppliers such as Amphenol, Radiall, Souriau, Glenair and Cinch, and fast turn-around time, we're in a great position to provide unbiased guidance at competitive lead-times.
Fibre is ideally suited for UAVs, with its light weight, high bandwidth and EMI / RFI immunity, it has vast benefits over copper solutions. We're able to provide box-to-box harnessing, internal card / edge connectivity and high durability external connectivity for ground umbilicals.
In addition to connectors, termini and harnesses, AVoptics has our LightWorks division which has specialist interests in UAVs and high bandwidth laser communication systems.
