2008
November 2008 - Kits delivered to Airbus
Two kits were delivered to Airbus UK to allow full on aircraft repair and Retermination of all there currently used Fibre Optic connector and cable configuration (ELIOTM, LuxCisTM, RSC on Nexans 62.5/125µm aerospace cable. The kits provide full termination, validation and test capability. Including AVlitecureTM, LitepathTM and portable interferometry the kits contain a database feature that provides the capability for full history of the reapirs performed and the results achieved.

October 2008 – AVoptics exhibits at AVFOP
AVoptics exhibits at AVFOP 2008 (San Diego). Showing the latest in portable repair and maintenance kits and the new AVlitecureTM system AVoptics is continuing its rapid growth ensuring that products that are needed enter the marketplace.

September 2008 – AVoptics Launches LitePathTM
Litepath can provide an aerospace standardised launch condition, allowing accurate, repeatable measurements to be made irrespective of the light source used. Removing the dependence on the source to achieve accurate results means that true measurements can be achieved whenever and wherever you are maintaining your aircraft.

Aug 2008 – AVoptics Launches AVLiteCureTM
AVLitecureTM is a novel curing system that has been developed to provide optimal cures in minutes rather than hours. Aerospace (and other harsh environments) applications require high integrity bonding between the fibre and the ferrule and one important characteristic is the Tg (glass transition temperature) of the adhesive after curing. Achieving high Tg values of >125° has typically involved cure times of over 1hour making aircraft repair a time-consuming and costly exercise. AVlitecureTM achieves the same integrity in a fraction of the time. Complete repair by retermination in <15minutes is now a reality.

July 2008 – AVoptics Delivers fibre optic training for Deutsch UK
