ARINC 807 – Fundamentals

This introductory course provides a good grounding in the principles of fibre optic transmission, hardware, safety awareness, basic characteristics of fibre cables and connectors, labelling, basic test equipment and inspection. A small hands-on element includes identification of fibre and cable types, main connector hardware, wavelength visibility, cleaning and basic fault finding. To successfully complete this training each student must perform each competency in the presence of the instructor.

ARINC 807 Fundamental course students have the option to take the accredited SAE Fundamentals exam. Administered through the ETA, successful students will hold the ARINC 807 Fundamentals qualification.
