What a weekend at the RAF Cosford Air Show!
We took our WOLF (Wireless Optical Laser Link) system out and demonstrated it at the RAF Cosford Airshow, and it performed flawlessly.
Amidst the roar of the jets and the crowds, the AVoptics Ltd team successfully demonstrated our GbE, free-space optical link in a real-world, dynamic setting. WOLF provided a high bandwidth, zero contention link for the vendors (based 200m across the aircraft hardstanding) to be able to use contactless payments. This replaced a Starlink comms link that was used in previous years. No dropouts were experienced during the day, and the Starlink back-up system was not used. Our customer from the organising team, Tom Brickell, said " Your team have been great. The WiFi team and the vendors are really pleased."
